[vlc] vod issues

hi all,

i'm new to the list and the technology.

i've successfully been able to create an "on demand" dvd thru the telnet
net interface, however, i only have the first chapter (typically an
introduction) that just keeps repeating. 

i'm looking to develop a series of scripts (may be using expect) to look
in a directory where there will be a multitude of dvd's. the directory
container will be a samba share, so dvd's could be simply copied to the
share and automagically integrated into vlc with a sap announcement.

can someone kindly point me to an example of a dvd that plays all its
chapters in sequence as well as any scripts that might be floating
around ...
