Thanks for your response. I considered these possibilities but they
seem unlikely since it occurs with practically every dvd I've tried
and it's not quite fatal enough to be DRM. I'll try it in a different
PC just to be sure.
Is there some more debugging information which would be useful?
Attached is lspci -v and lsmod.
