[vlc] Videolan player

Hello
I have a wmv9 file I'd like to play on my Mac OS X Tiger intel system. I
have the latest version of VLC 0.8.6d janus
I see on the wiki page (https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/750) that this
has been fixed and the files play, but this is not the case.
When I try to play the file I get an error which states:

main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `MSS2'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

So can you tell me if this has been fixed or not and if yes how do I get VLC
to play the file?
