I recompiled ffmpeg with swscaler, then vlc snapshot against the new
ffmpeg. Now it plays any of my files, including divx, xvid, wmv, wma.

Still, I have a question. Could you please explain why was it needles
for 0.8.6b and is a requirement now for snapshot?
