The RTSP address will be unlike for various vendors. For example Axis
IP-Camera's send mpeg4 RTSP via rtsp://ip/mpeg4/media.amp

Subject: [vlc] VLC and RTSP - IP cameras

Hi!

I'm new to this list. I'm an application developer and would like to use
some of the VLC code in my application. But first, though, I'm having
trouble using the VLC player - hence I'm writing to the USER list.

I have an IP camera that communicates using RTSP streaming of video data.
The data itself is in mp4 format. I can't figure out how to stream the
video to the VLC player.

I supplied the http:// [IP address] and did a dump and received the
following:

{lefttopframe}

{maintopframe}

{leftframe}

{center}

{mainframe}

{retframe}

When I give the RTSP address, I get the message "Unable to open up file"

Any ideas?

Best regards,
