[vlc] Version 0.9.8a reports 0.9.8

There is something funny about version numbers.
I downloaded  vlc-0.9.8a.dmg from 
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
Latest Mac OS X package for 10.4 and 10.5 (release 0.9.8a) Universal 
Binary (30.6MB).
I opened and dragged to Applications and opened, but
it told me to download the newest 0.9.8a, and it downloaded  
vlc-0.9.8a-powerpc.dmg.

MacOsX-10.5 "get info" says the version is 0.9.8 Grishenko created 
Decemner 5, 2008 1:36 pm.
VLC "about" also says 0.9.8, but I'm pretty sure this is really 0.9.8a.
