Hi,

I am running VLC 0.8.6d compiled from source on an x86_64 RHEL5.1 machine.
I have two DVD-RW drives, one on SATA and one ATAPI. They both behave the
same.

Problem:
When playing a DVD with initial menu on it (created using Roxio DVD
Creator), the VLC player jumps over the menu items without displaying them
(one can see the slider jumping couple of times and file names changing
rapidly) and then starts playing the first movie on the disk.

I am running VMware on the same machine with WinXP guest in it. I
installed VLC player for Windows and this player behaves normally - it
displays the initial menu and lets me choose which movie I want to play.

Both DVD drives behave the same. VMware WinXP works, Linux does not.

How to reproduce in RHEL5.1:

1.
Create a DVD with an initial menu using Roxio DVD Creator.
2.
Insert the DVD into drive and mount the drive.
3.
Start VLC player
4.
Click File...Open Disk
Then Disk Tab and DVD (menus)
Enter proper device name and click OK.
5.
The problem exhibits itself.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Frank
