[vlc] Increasing quality

I'm having problems with the above command on certain DVDs. Usually
it works fine, but with about 20% of the movies I try, the vlc
progress bar eventually starts jumping around and the .ps file gets
bigger and bigger until I close vlc. Any idea how to fix that?
