[vlc] Save videos after decode, two compare two videos

Hi:

I was going through your post at http://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/vlc/2005-May/011251.html

I am interested in comparing two videos. I do not know  where to start. I will be very grateful if you can provide me some suggestions to start. What parameters can I use to compare two real time videos? Please help.
