[vlc] Two questions on vlc.

Hello!
I am a blind person using vlc to play my dvd-s.
Well i listen to them of course.
However i have a question.
Is there any way to jump to a specific time in vlc?
If not i would like to request this as a comming feature.
Next question.
When playing dvd-s i get a popup window with some hardware overlay window.
I don't know what it is, the only thing i want is to get ridd of it.
