[vlc] streaming on tcp

Hi All,
   
  Dows anybody of you has a script which can run vlc as a daemon and store the PID in order to restart, stop or start the vlc application?
   
  For example:
   
  #vlc_script start or #vlc_script stop or #vlc_restart
   
  It is annoying to kill each process manually and then restart them. Specially when you are running multiple instances of vlc.
