[vlc] Freezing frame from udp stream on screen?

That was certainly my first thought as well, but pause just puts the
pause watermark up on the screen for a couple seconds -- the video keeps
right on going. This is vlc 0.8.6 series. Is the behavior different
under 0.9.0?
