Stan,

open the video file, go to the Video menu and select the language of  
your choice in the "Subtitles" category. Like wise, it also works in  
the right-click-menu on the video if you're running Windows or *nix.  
Note that your sub-file needs to have the same name as your video  
(except for the file extension of course) and needs to be stored in  
the same directory.
