[vlc] question about ffmpeg demuxer

Dear all,
For a project, we're using vlc for playing http mpeg-2 sequences.
The player is embedded in a browser.
Until version 0.8.6 something everything was fine, but recent versions
seem not to accept the demux=ffmpeg option.
What's strange is that the standalone version seems to accept that
option (the consequence is that the clock is running) while the plugin
version does not.
Has anyone some information on this?
