[vlc] Video output problem !

I run vlc-0.8.6c on (ARM+DSP) and have a problem that, video output take a large time to display.
Using the DSP deceased the decoding time, but after debugging and measurements i find that video output take the longest time which is not expected i use the frame buffer directly in displaying video.
Is there any idea to improve/decrease the time consumed by the video output?------------------
