[vlc] Saving WMV network stream raw doesn't work in 0.9.2

Hi,

the German TV station RTL offers streams for several of their series. I'm storing them locally prior to watching because the streams often stop in the middle, probably because of bandwith issues on the station's side.

0.8.6i did and still does this job fine, but unfortunatly, 0.9.2 fails doing the exact same thing.


In 0.9.2:
1. Open menu Media -> Convert/Save.
2. Select "Network" tab, enter mms://217.118.170.35/vod/38/E76829_FA001_700k.wmv?ssid=4787d48afa536406182a6b3e1166721f&cid=1222331810&rd=1&rnd=7182384 as address and click "Convert / Save".
3. In the following window, in Outputs, select "Dump raw input" and "File", enter Filename, click "Save".

Error:
VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'mms://217.118.170.35/vod/38/E76829_FA001_700k.wmv?ssid=4787d48afa536406182a6b3e1166721f&cid=1222331810&rd=1&rnd=7182384' cannot be detected. Have a look the log for details.

In Tools -> Messages I find the following:
access_mms info: selecting stream[0x1] audio (95 kb/s)
access_mms info: selecting stream[0x2] video (593 kb/s)
access_mms info: connection successful
main error: no demux module matched "dump :demuxdump-file=D:/test.wmv"
main error: no suitable demux module for `mms/://217.118.170.35/vod/38/E76829_FA001_700k.wmv?ssid=4787d48afa536406182a6b3e1166721f&cid=1222331810&rd=1&rnd=7182384'

However, opening the same stream using the menu Media -> Open Network works flawlessly, i.e. VLC 0.9.2 starts playing without any complaints. So somehow, it can't be the stream, but I don't know what might be wrong on my side either, especially because with 0.8.6, downloading works fine. I can even download with 0.8.6 and watch the downloaded file at the same time using 0.9.2.


In 0.8.6i:
1. Open menu File -> Open Network Stream
2. In the "Open" dialog, select HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS and enter URL mentioned above.
3. In "Advanced Options", select "Stream/Save" and click "Settings".
4. In the following window "Stream output", select "Dump raw input" and "File", enter target filename, click Ok.
5. Click Ok in the "Open" dialog.

VLC 0.8.6 starts storing the stream without complaints.


I'm using Windows XP SP2, VLC versions as mentioned above. 

A note on the stream:
The stream URL is only free until Monday, on Tuesday a new, free episode will be available at http://rtl-now.rtl.de/rach.php . Select the first episode, the one showing "kostenlos" (free) in the "Preis" (price) column, in table right below the image. A new page will open showing an embedded player. Open the HTML source of that page, search vor "movie=", it'll bring you to a line like "onclick='movie="http://rtl-now.rtl.de/logic/playlist_gen.php?movie=blabla". That URL points to some ASX data, open by prepending it with "view-source:", i.e. open view-source:http://rtl-now.rtl.de/logic/playlist_gen.php?movie=blabla. You can (finally..) find the stream's MMS url as the second <Entry>, it'll have something like "700k.wmv" in it.
I can cite the new MMS URL if needed and you don't want to go through all that hazzle.

Any help greatly appreciated.
