[vlc] M4a and mp3 player

Hi guys.

Does your VLC player play both mp3 and mp4a formats? I have music ready for
Ipod and MP3, but I want one player that can access both. It irritates me to
swop between windows media player and itunes everytime. I'm running windows
xp home.
