[vlc] version 1.0.1 "Saving file failed"

Hi Sir;

I think your VLC Player is terriffic.  I'm an individual user and appreciate the freeware.  The latest version 1.0.1 when I attempt to update upon prompt, I receive the following message: "Saving file failed" Failed to open "directory I choose" for writing.  I have 4 different drives on this XP system, with SP2, no matter which drive I choose to save the update to I receive that message.  

I have no problem saving files with any other program.  

Do you have any suggestions?  I appreciate all your great work with this player and the only time i've ever had a problem.
