[vlc] "Video is loading" when there is no video; and controls in the browser

When I play an MP3 file in Firefox 3.0.5 with vlc 0.9.8a as a plugin, the 
browser window is all black with the message "Video is loading".  But of 
course there is no video.

This needs a different message, appropriate to what's being played.

Even better would be the name (URL) of the file, and on-screen controls. 
Is there some way to do this?
