[vlc] VRO files

Hi,

My camcorder creates VR discs with the VRO file format (VRO file
extension). If I load them into VLC player they play fine, yet I have to
use the drop down list to view all files as it doesn't recognise them as
Video files.

Could you add the VRO extension to the list of video file extensions and
also make it so that Windows when it detects a VRO disc will automatically
play it through VLC, as no other media player currently seems to support
VRO files (unless you copy the files to the hard disc and rename them to
VOB).

The format of a VRO file is
.Sys-Reserved-RW-Bitmap.GROW - ??? in root folder, doesn't seem to do
anything - possibly something to do with the way it records to the disc?
\DVD_RTAV - folder contains VRO files and IFO files
VR_MANGR.IFO - inside DVD_RTAV folder - IFO file for video
VR_MOVIE.VRO - VRO file also inside DVD_RTAV folder - virtually the same as
a VOB file, apart from seeking doesn't work on most DVD playing software,
except VLC.

At the moment we use VR format because we have a Canon camcorder and it
didn't come with it's original charger, the only way to finalise a normal
Video disc on this camcorder is to have it plugged into the charger and the
new charger we bought doesn't have an option to plug the camera in, so it's
easier just to use VRO format.

Also your VLC player is one of the few decoders that can actually convert
VRO into MPG properly, the others get the seeking all wrong (I presume the
VRO format has some kind of special seeking/recording method as it allows
editing of the movie on the camcorder, unlike the standard video mode).

Kind regards

Darren.
