[vlc] MXF files

I use VLC Media Player as my default player because it is the best there is
and readily opens the .mxf files that I use to edit EX CAM clips on my NLE.

 

Unfortunately I cannot see thumbnails of these .mxf files which makes the
selection of .mxf clips for insertion into a project very time consuming
compared to .avi files which show thumbnails.

 

Is this some thing that VLC can so something about or is the issue with
Windows Vista?
