[vlc] Savio - problems with vlc on windows 7

Hi there I've been using vlc for many years now.I upgraded to windows 7 then
all the problems start.First vlc played all the videos at bad quality I
fixed that by changing the video output to opengl.But now whenever I try to
play a high definition file may it be mp4 or mkv there is no audio.Could you
please help me out.
