[vlc] Update file save problem

Problem: pop-up states new ver. VLC 1.0.1 available for downloading. I click yes, get message "Saving file failed.... Failed to open (directory name) for writing." 

Unknown cause--saving to the directory should not be a problem.

Software: VLC Media Player 1.0.0 Goldeneye
System: Windows XP 2002 Service Pack 3

Others may be having this problem.
