[vlc] VLC problems

 Hello:
Problems with the free version of VLC Player.

Some videos that I download from reliable websites will not play. I get a black 
screen and I see the progress bar moving.  They do play in Windows Media Player. 
 I have the Windows XP version.  

On videos that will play the Loop point A and B function will not work.  When I 
click the A part and then the B part all that happens is a repetitive single 
frame over and over.  That's the best I can describe it.
