[vlc] Closing VLC player while it is playing crashes explorer

[Big Bro]

On my puter, when I close VLC player while playing, using the close
button in it's top right corner, everything freezes. A warning then
appears that explorer has to close and after closing that message the
MS window to send them a report appears. This repeated 100% of the
times I tried it after discovering it would do this. Stopping VLC,
then closing; it does not freeze the puter.

Is this a bug?
