[vlc] Media Player Help

Good evening,

 

I downloaded the product (media player 1.1.5).but some of my controls are
not showing (see picture below). For example, I play a video.but there is no
slider showing for me to fast forward, or drag to fast forward that is. I
want to change to the skin I downloaded, but (as you can see from picture
below) there is nothing there for me to select to do so (though it shows to
"choose").

 

Please let me know what I may do to correct this.
