[vlc] no volume when playing mp4 on mac os x 10.6

 Hi,

Am new to the Mac world and have just downloaded the VLC for intel based mac
os x 10.6 macbook. When playing the mp4, there is no volume sounding even
when I have the dial cranked up on the upper tool bar. On the video page
itself, there is no volume option. Hope you can help.
