[vlc] VLC crashes when laptop goes to sleep, such as by closing lid.

vlc crashes when laptop goes to sleep.
 
Machine locks after 15 minutes of inactivity (per company profile). I
think that also caused vlc to fail.
 
 
 
Windows XP Professional SP 2,
VLC media player 1.1.0 The Luggage
Laptop: Dell Latitude D630, 4GB ram, 78GB free on disk.
 
 
Reproduce:
 
1. Start VLC to play a DVD disk.
2. Watch.
3. Close lid of laptop.
4. Laptop goes to sleep (blinking power indicator).
5. Later...
6. Open lid.
7. Sign in.
8. VLC is gone.
9. Restart VLC.
10. Says vlc has crashed. Send a report?
 
It's consistent.
 
 
Dell PowerDVD would pause while lid was closed / laptop was asleep.
