[vlc] 64 bit version

I am trying to use Handbrake for Mac 10.5 (release 1.0.5) but it keeps
asking for VLC 64 bit version.  I have downloaded both the intel and
the universal versions but Handbrake keeps asking for the VLC 64 bit.

What am I doing wrong?
