[vlc] Problem with subtitles

Dear Sirs I use VLC media player for many years with subtitles Greek or
English, recently the English subtitles work OK but the Greek do not they
appear like (lower Latin characters with two Dotson top) 

I would appreciate if you could send me some hints if I can correct this.   

Have in mind that in other players the subtitles work OK but VLC is a very
good one and I would prefer to use it.
