[vlc] Instructions are confusing

First problem... is that refer to a menu button on the basic interface.
There is NO menu button on my interface.
Second problem is that there seems to be no way to stream content which I
find on the internet.  
It just takes forever to download it.  And if I want to play one after the
other, it is even more labor intensive.
Third problem is that the language you use in any "help" articles is so
obtuse and techie that I can't make heads or tails out of it.
 
En tout cas, j'aurais besoin de stream, par exemple,

Please be so kind as to tell me how to do this.  In plain English.  Or send
me to the exact page where I can get this information in plain English.
