[vlc] VLC Media Player Settings, Please Help

My questions is very simple, and I did not find it anywhere in the forums or other pages of the site.

How do I make VLC Media Player my Default Player.  I am running Windows XP SP3 on a Dell XPS200, and have the latest update on my working VLC Media Player, just checked to make sure I was updated, and it said I have the latest version.
