[vlc] vlc, firefox et streaming

		Dear All

	Is it possible to use VLC to read a video on a private blog ? If yes how ?
Actually I am using firefox 3.6.13 under fedora 13. Vlc is proposed as the tool 
for reading video and audio files in firefox (préférences > applications). But 
if I try to read a video (clicking on the image) the video is choppy, with much 
accelerated parts and long stops, moreover there is no sound.
What are the proper swichs to set on and where, for getting a normal behaviour, 
either in vlc or firefox ?
I am a long time "linuxien" but don't know anything in video and things like that.
