[vlc] Problem with VLC Media player

I have several .wmv videos.
They are not protected.  Some are made from photoshows.
All run on MS Windows Media Player.
Some will not run on VLC.
They just show an unrelated jpg, which I have no idea where it came from.
That image is always the same, regardless the video.
Some others run fine.

What can I do to remove the offending jpg and to make these videos run
on VLC?
