[vlc] vlc doesn't maximize windows 7

Hi, I'm installed the vlc player but it doesn't maximize (I can't find it)
If I right click on the icon in the taskbar and choose a previously played
video it plays at full screen fine but if I hit esc it keeps playing but I
can't find the application. I'm running dual monitors but don't have this
problem with other programs. How can I fix this?
