[vlc] Convert to a DVD machine playable format?

I want to make a DVD that'll play on my home DVD player.

I just downloaded an .mp4 video that's the one I want to be able to play
on my DVD player (the player several years old).

What format should I use with VLC to convert it to?  TS?  I know, I
know, "it depends upon the player"....keep in mind the player's several
years old and cost only $25 at the time from Walmart.
