[vlc] Jerky imaging

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently upgraded my OS to Ubuntu 11.10. Since I have done this on the
audio ( listening to music), the player skips a second or so every now
and then, while on the video playback the image is very jerky, making it
difficult to watch.

Could you please advise on this problem?
