Hi,
I have been using VLC for quite a few years on various microsoft
systems, and I think it is great. However I recently changed to Ubuntu
and there seem to be some differences. The difficulty I am having is in
the playback of music. On the Microsoft version I could add tracks to
play in two ways:
opening the folder, right clicking and add to playlist.
Open media on the VLC console, select the files and add.

On Ubuntu none of these work as right clicking does not give the option
of queueing and through Media, my music does not show as it is on a
server and the server option does not come up.

Could you please help with this problem.
