[vlc] Playing DVDs on Android

According to http://www.jbkempf.com/blog/post/2014/VLC-Android-and-DVDs
VLC can play my DVDs under Android since version 0.9.7.1.

So I installed 0.9.9 and was hoping to be able to play my DVDs, but
I can't figure out how: VLC just sits there telling me there's nothing
in my video library.

How can I tell VLC to open the DVD stream from /dev/block/sr0?
