Correct it uses v4l2 api and this is not part of the standard 2.4.20
linux kernel from kernel.org. The standar linux kernel uses the *old*
v4l interface.

The development kernel 2.5.x uses the *new* v4l2 api that now supports
DVB cards, webcams, encoding cards, etc. properly. So you have two choices:

1) patch linux kernel 2.4.20 with the apropriated v4l2 patches, so you
can get the kernel-dvb CVS branch from linuxtv.org. Or:

2) Use a development kernel (in feature freeze AFAIK) with kernel-dvb
and v4l2 already in there. Of course every development kernel is always
a bit *experimental* so your mileage may very ;-)

Jean-Paul Saman.
