Since Andrew's rewrite of ps2to converter, the streaming of PS files or
DVDs (which are in PS format) seems broken in VLS CVS.
A simple test to show that is try to stream a DVD with VLS and receive
it with VLC 0.6.2 :
- with VLS 0.5.3, it plays perfectly for hours (tested at the Journées
du Libre 2003 in Lyon 2003 :)
- with VLS CVS, it's a mess : after 10 to 20 minutes, VLC displays an
horrible stream, with plenty of error messages like that :
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (115467)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (113267)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (198155)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (191956)
[00000188] main private debug: decoded 102/105 pictures
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (174678)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (196955)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (207311)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (205023)
[00000187] main video output warning: late picture skipped (22573)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (-101423)
[00000188] main private warning: backward_pts != current_pts (60545)
Note : I use the VLS that is packaged in Debian Sid (it's based on the
current CVS) with a config file (because the command line is broken).
But the problem doesn't come from the packaging, I'm sure it comes from
VLS.
