[x264-devel] problems with both mkv and mp4 output with 23.976fps input (crash, strange bitrate)

on doom9 lots of different people reported problems when encoding with an
input framerate of 23.976fps when using .mp4 or .mkv output.

there doesnt seem to be a problem with raw output

with .mp4 output x264 crashes somewhere during the encode on long encodes
with .mkv this seems to happen too sometimes and there is also a wierd
bitrate displayed after encoding

there doesnt seem to be problems with 25fps

as both mkv and mp4 show problems with 23.976 i thought there might be a
problem in x264 itself? it seems to happen with both .avs and .yuv input

any ideas?
i saw that x264 reports 23.97fps as input framerate, maybe there is some
mismatch between 23.976 and 23.97 or so?
