Great! And it works, PSNR=inf for all test videos
I tested (real PSNR, not just the average PSNR).

Here are compression ratios for some videos:
Sequence \ --subme ->		5	5	6(RDO) gzip	bzip2
           \ --ref ->		1	5	5

bridge_close			54	56	57	 7	48
coastguard			57	57	56	31	44
flower				58	60	59	31	39
foreman				63	64	64	34	49
highway				56	57	57	43	56
mobile_and_calendar		50	53	52	16	25
munchener_hall			41	41	40	26	39
news				80	80	80	37	59
paris				70	70	69	25	39
stefan				52	53	52	29	41
tempete				54	56	55	25	36
tourists_in_san_fransisco	60	60	60	45	56
waterfall			63	63	63	20	33

0 = no compression
100 = compressed to zero size
(larger = better)

Command line:
/home/tuukkat/mplayer/x264/x264 -v --frames 250 --fps 30 -i 9999 -b 0 -r 5
-q 0 -A all --subme 5 -o test.264 /video/std-video/tourists_in_san_fransisco-352x288.yuv 352x288
where -r and --subme and yuv filename varies.
For gzip, I used -9, nothing for bzip2.

Now, if x264 would just support some high fidelity extensions
(PCM at least is not supported, I think. Unless it was just added)
