There are a couple of more changes needed to get crosscompiles right, e.g. the 
CFLAGS (mostly defined) getting set on a per-OS basis in configure must be 
set for the target OS, not necessarily for `uname -s`.

The patch I've attached should do the trick, currently untested though.
