Myself and my company are users of x264 and have already contributed to the 
continued development of x264 by sponsoring and paying for the development of 
several optimizations and features.  We are currently working on interlacing.  
We would definitely benefit from an LGPL license and would also commit to 
continuing to release improvements to x264 back to the OSS community.  

I have to agree that in principle, I believe companies like ours have much 
more to gain by the move to LGPL than what we can give back to the community, 
but if we can keep the street two way (giving and receiving) that would be 
ideal and we support the move.
