[x264-devel] multi core encoding / interlaced mode

Hi,

I'm using VLC to stream using x264 codec on a bi-quadcore intel on a Tyan
S9626 motherboard. I noticed only a single core is used while compressing.
If the size is full SD (square pixel 768x576), one core is clearly not
enough (toping at 100% and framerate is lower than natural 25).

How to use all (8) cores of the server in order to stream live full SD or
even HD ?

Another small thing: when using the interlace mode (50i) of x264, the
decoding VLC produces a grey picture with errors macroblocs.

Thanx in advance for your answer.
