You're forgetting that in PAFF, the second field can reference the first 
field. So PAFF != MBAFF field macroblock only, and thus you'll need to 
argue a bit before stating "MBAFF should always be superior to PAFF"

Note, that doesn't mean MBAFF sucks either, just that the problem is 
more complex than it may seem at first sight.
