Hi all.
I have the same cpu of David Sullivan, and so I tried to investigate the
problem.
My sytem:
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme 3,2GHz
- Ubuntu 8,04 64bit version
- x264 r999
- used clip: mobile.y4m
My problem is simple. If I use the command: "x264 mobile_cif.y4m -B 300 -v
-o mobile.mkv"
the produced file has a really strange "chess effect", due to a massive
presence of "i" frames.
if, instead, I use the following command: "x264 mobile_cif.y4m -B 300
-v --threads
2 -o mobile_2.mkv"
surprisingly (for me) the produced file is fine. The result is good for any
thread number greater than the default "1".
I attached the 2 logs produced.
Any idea?
Thanks
Marco Liuzzi
