[x264-devel] Version used

Hi All,

I am getting very different results with different versions of mencoder when
using x264.  I have debian packages that I am testing.  How can I tell which
version of x264 is being used?

I normally compile x264 from git then install it, then compile an mplayer
package from SVN which I archive.  Then later on I compare the various
versions of the mplayer packages just by issuing dpkg -i ...  Clearly if x264
is dynamically loaded then all versions must use the same library (since I do
not rebuild x264 between test.)  This would mean that the differences between
the mencoder versions are due to mencoder.  With static linking different
x264 versions are used.

So I would like to first figure out whether mencoder or x264 is the culprit.

(I asked this on the mencoder list as well, so far noone offered an answer.)
