This is a decoding question not related to the development of the x264
encoder. Thus he is posting unrelated drivel on the devel mailinglist. I
suggest you keep your mouth shut as your post was also irrelevant and did
not propose any answer and simply meant to lecture someone who
is significantly more intelligent than you.


@Michael,

There aren't currently any decoders that do process splitting between CPU
and GPU, while you might be able to design a decoder that purports specific
tasks to either CPU or GPU it would likely be highly inefficient. You should
be able to encode your clip to match the max specs that your GPU is rated to
decode but aside from lowering your encoding options i can't think of any
way of improving performance other than making sure your drivers and GPU
accelerated codec are up to date.
